My TV says it's not receiving a signal

If you're seeing the message above on your Sky box, or your TV says it's not receiving a signal - there are a few things you can check before giving us a call.

If your Sky box is not showing a signal, check the connections on the back of the box, and then take a look at your dish. Whether it's a private dish, or one fitted by Sky, we are able to service it and provide any maintenance required. If your Sky dish isn't pointing in the same direction as everybody else's, it may have become mis-aligned. If the dish looks okay, there may be an issue with the LNB, or the cabling.

If you've lost some of the channels you normally receive on Freeview, there could be a number of reasons. We advise you check these before giving us a call - however we'd be happy to help if you're unable to resolve the issue.

Things you should check include:

  • The weather - Some weather conditions, such as high pressure, which is associated with fine weather (and morning fog) can affect your reception. This issue is temporary and will resolve itself without any intervention.
  • Engineering works - Sometimes essential engineering work is performed on transmitters across the area. Aerials in Frome are covered by the Mendip transmitter, which provides digital services for a large area. You may see your signal strength drop or disappear as work is performed, but it should go back up when the work is finished.   • Retuning your TV - Channels are occasionally moved up and down in frequency from time to time. Retune your tv to see if the channels return.
